The role focuses on mobilizing deposits, deepening customer engagement, and ensuring the sustainability of UMBA Microfinance’s funding base.

Key Responsibilities 1.
Deposit Mobilization Develop and implement strategies to attract new depositors and retain existing clients.
Achieve monthly and annual deposit mobilization targets as set by management.
Promote UMBA’s savings, fixed deposit, and investment products to individuals, groups, SMEs, and institutions.

Client Relationship Management Build strong, lasting relationships with clients through proactive engagement and excellent service.
Conduct regular client visits, meetings, and financial education forums to increase awareness of UMBA’s products.
Act as the primary point of contact for key deposit clients and respond to queries in a timely manner.

Business Development and Marketing Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory / portfolio.
Develop partnerships with SACCOs, Chamas, schools, churches, and corporates to generate deposits.
Organize and participate in marketing campaigns, community outreach programs, and product launches.

Compliance and Risk Management Ensure all deposit mobilization activities comply with UMBA Microfinance’s policies, CBK regulations, and AML / CFT requirements.
Monitor client accounts to ensure adherence to KYC, due diligence, and anti-fraud standards.
Prepare accurate reports on deposit mobilization performance, pipeline clients, and market intelligence.

Reporting and Performance Tracking Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on deposit mobilization activities and achievements.
Track personal and branch targets, providing input to management on opportunities and challenges.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in deposit mobilization, relationship management, or business development in a financial institution (microfinance, SACCO, or bank).
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales / target goals.
Familiarity with digital financial services and innovative savings products will be an added advantage.
