We’re hiring a freelance EPC construction manager / technical project manager to lead the site execution of a 300 kW ground-mounted solar plant in Mombasa, Kenya . This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who knows how to build solar plants from the ground up — and already has a trusted network of subcontractors ready to activate.
🔍 What You’ll Do
- Take full ownership of site execution — from mobilization to final delivery
- Manage all on-site works : civil, electrical, panel installation, logistics
- Work with your own vetted subcontractors (civil, electrical, logistics, etc.)
- Oversee cement-based mounting, trenching, cabling, and panel installation
- Handle local permitting and KPLC coordination
- Provide regular progress reports on project phases
- Solve problems on the ground and ensure quality, safety, and timelines
✅ What You Bring
5+ years of experience in solar EPC or technical project managementProven track record in ground-mounted solar (50 kW – 5 MW) in KenyaStrong local network of subcontractors in Mombasa and / or NairobiDeep knowledge of cement-based mounting systems and solar plant constructionComfortable building and managing site teams from scratchWilling to relocate to Mombasa for the duration of the project (if not already based there)Honest, hands-on, and committed to doing things right — no shortcuts💼 Engagement Details
