Job Summary : The School Administrator will play a critical role in the strategic transition of Kenya Kesho School for Girls from a founder-led initiative to a professionally managed institution. This role is essential for systematizing operations, empowering staff, and ensuring continuity and clarity during this pivotal phase. The administrator will support the Head Teacher in managing daily operations, HR, procurement, and monitoring & evaluation processes, contributing to the school's operational excellence and financial sustainability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Operational Management :
- Formalize the transition of operational leadership from the founders to the Head Teacher and the new School Administrator, ensuring continuity and clarity.
- Review and adopt existing HR & Procurement manuals under new management.
- Manage daily school operations efficiently.
Human Resources & Staff Welfare :
Support the Head Teacher on HR policies, staff contracts, performance reviews, and welfare.Ensure a positive and compliant work environment for all staff.Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new staff as needed.System Implementation & Optimization :
Implement and maintain efficient operational systems.Strengthen the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework for impact reporting.Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and year-end efficiency reports.Financial Support (in collaboration with the Treasurer / Board Accountant) :
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Monthly Cash Flow Forecast model.Support the formalization of relationships with the board level accountant.Community & Stakeholder Relations :
Support the Head Teacher in community leader meetings and engagement strategies.Contribute to maintaining deep community trust and transparent communication.Board Level Relations
Develop an ongoing reporting plan with the Kenya Kesho Board members, reporting on KPI’s and other deliverables.Skills and Experience Required :
Proven experience in school administration or a similar operational management role.Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures, preferably with knowledge of Kenyan labor law.Experience in procurement and financial record-keeping.Ability to implement and optimize operational systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Commitment to the vision and mission of Kenya Kesho School for Girls.Proficiency in relevant software and tools for administrative tasks.Job location : Mshiu Village, Kwale County, Kenya
