Senior Systems Administrator

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator with 10+ years of expertise in managing and optimizing IT systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of servers, networks, and enterprise systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to lead IT infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer, monitor, and maintain servers (Windows / Linux) and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and optimization.

Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange / Email systems, and cloud platforms.

Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Ensure system and network security through firewalls, antivirus, patching, and vulnerability management.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.

Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Support end-users with technical issues escalated from IT support teams.

Lead system upgrades, migrations, and IT infrastructure improvement projects.

Mentor and support junior IT staff in systems administration and best practices.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

10+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure management.

Strong experience with Windows Server and / or Linux environments.

Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Expertise in networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, VPN, firewalls, routing).

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, GDPR).

Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.

Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills :

Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), VMware VCP, or CompTIA Security+.

Experience in managing enterprise storage, backup, and monitoring tools.

Proven ability to lead IT infrastructure modernization projects.
