Maintenance Head

A design-led luxury lodge on a private conservancy in Kenya's Laikipia region is seeking a hands-on and technically capable MAINTENANCE MANAGER to join their team.

The ideal candidate is a practical, systems-minded leader who can keep a remote, eco-conscious lodge running smoothly, from solar and water treatment to generators and vehicles.

Core Criteria:

• Strong technical knowledge of maintenance systems (electrical, plumbing, solar, HVAC)
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Familiarity with sustainability practices in maintenance operations
• Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting
• Highly organised and detail-oriented
• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues
• Effective communicator with strong leadership abilities
• Commitment to high safety and sustainability standards

Core Responsibilities:

• Assign and monitor tasks for mechanics and maintenance staff
• Conduct daily briefings on priorities, issues and plans
• Remain available on the radio to assist with maintenance needs
• Inspect lodge facilities and key systems, including water treatment, generators, solar, HVAC and electrical panels
• Oversee and assist with urgent repairs such as plumbing leaks and electrical faults
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are in good working order
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, verifying that work is timely and meets lodge standards
• Monitor fuel levels for generators and vehicles, and gas levels in bulk tanks and portable bottles
• Ensure tools and consumables are well stocked
• Keep accurate logs of completed work, equipment usage and resolved issues
• Complete all required daily dips and recordings

On Offer:

• Salary: KES 150,000
• Permanent, live-in position
