For Appointment to This Grade, a Candidate Must Have : -
Served for a Minimum Period of Three (3) Years in the Grade of Assistant Director, Economic Policy Analysis / principal Economist, Csg 7;A Bachelors Degree in Any of the Following Fields : Economics, Economics and Sta-tistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance, Actuarial Sciences or Any Other Equivalent Qualification From a University Recognized in Kenya;Certificate in Any of the Following Fields : Policy Formulation, Financial Modelling, Macro-economic Modelling, Public Expenditure Analysis / management, Tax Poli-cy Analysis and Revenue Estimation, Public Debt Management, Intergovernmen-tal Fiscal Relations Management or Regional Integration From a Recognized Insti-tution; andDemonstrated Professional Competence and Management Capacity as Reflected in Work Performance and Results.Duties and Responsibilities
An Officer at This Level Will Be Responsible to the Senior Deputy Director, Macro and Fiscal Policy. Duties and Responsibilities at This Level Will Include : -
Administering and Monitoring Fiscal and Investment Incentives and Proposing Policy Reviews;Analysing, and Monitoring and Evaluating Bilateral and Multilateral Economic and Fiscal Agreements;Formulating, Implementing and Monitoring Macro-economic and Fiscal Policies;Undertaking Macro-economic and Fiscal Analysis, Modelling and Forecasting;Initiating Policy Proposals to Facilitate Mobilization of Domestic Resources and Monitoring of Revenue Collection;Preparing Revenue Estimates for the National Government;Providing Secretariat to Macro-working Group;Formulating and Monitoring the Implementation of the National Employment Policy;Initiating the Preparation of the Medium Term Macro-fiscal Framework;Following Up on the Implementation of the Obligations Under the Wto, Imf and Other Partner Institutions;Coordinating Fiscal, Monetary and Macro-economic Issues Relating to Regional Economic Blocks and Analysing Their Implications on the Kenyan Economy;Cording the Preparation of Relevant Country Position Papers;Participating in the Preparation of the Economic Partnership Agreement;Monitoring and Advising on Broader Macro-economic Variables for Economic Sta-bility; andInitiating / reviewing Cabinet Memoranda on Micro-economic and Fiscal Affairs.
